Abstract EN

The study aimed to find out the applicability of local materials in the design of the internal residential space of contemporary buildings in Khartoum.

In its procedures, it adopted a descriptive and analytical approach, whereby the questionnaire tool was used to collect data and information from the community under study in Khartoum State, and the sample of the study was a group of engineers and interior designers practicing the profession within the boundaries of Khartoum State and their number reached (50).

After the procedures of describing and analyzing the data statistically, the most important results of the study concluded that local materials used in the internal residential space positively affect the aesthetic values of the space.
