This research examines one of the linguistic terminologies that was prevalently used by Ibn Ya’ish, a well-known Arabic syntactician of the Seventh Century AH.

The research shows the uses of the term ‘corrupted’ and links it to the modern linguistic terminology.

Furthermore, the research shows the ways Ibn Ya’ish used this term in syntax and the contexts where he focused on the use of this term.

In addition, the research seeks to explore the most important synthetic cases Ibn Ya’ish described as ‘corrupted’.

Moreover, the research attempts to outline a number of general determiners and features that are attributed to the uses of this term by Ibn Ya’ish and the extent to which he was impacted by the earlier syntacticians as for the use of this term.
