Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the leadership styles prevalent among the deans of colleges in Saudi government universities and their relationship to the achievement motivation of the faculty members, to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive survey approach, and after data collection was analyzed by the (SPSS) program, the study was conducted on a sample consisting of (544) A member of the teaching staff in Saudi government universities in Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, the results of study showed that the democratic method is the prevailing method among the deans of the colleges concerned, as well as the existence of a positive correlation between achievement motivation degrees and the democratic style.

In light of the results of the study, the researcher recommended a set of recommendations that would raise the efficiency of those in leadership positions, improve the leadership style applied, and work to improve the conditions of the university’s administrative environment and distribute leadership positions according to competence, The study also presented recommendations and suggestions for decision-makers in higher education institutions on how to develop the roles of faculty deans.
