Abstract EN

This study is aimed at shedding light on the aestehtic and functional values of the art of manual textile formation and the construction of textile plastic painting.

It also targets idenitifcation of the manual textile art as a form of plastic art, considering its functional role.

The learner has adopted the descritptive-analytical appraoch as the most approriate for the nature of the study as it allows consideration of the aesethic and functional values of the manual textile plastic art works.

Consequently, a package of models were selected for textile pendants by some Sudanese weavers and designers which bear aesethetic and plural values and cultural connotations in both their form and content.

These will be discussed in accordane with the technical standards.

The study has come out with some results, primarily: that the manual textile pendant can contribute to the promotion of sensual and aestehtic appreciation and can stand out as a work of art that bears aesthetic and funcational values, particularly if it is associated with the cultural heritage of the people of Sudan through which those people can authenticate their identity.

The use of different textile fabrics and natual or senthetic fibres has considerable impact on the plastic construction of manual textile.
