The study aims to provide a picture of the financing of the Algerian pension system and the extent of the contribution of petroleum collection in the light of the financial imbalances identified by the Fund and its impact on the political and economic changes experienced by Algeria since the reforms in the Retirement System in 1983.

Algeria, like several States, faced difficulties in funding the retirement system, which necessitated reforms in the pension system in order to maintain the funds of the participants and to meet the commitments of the Fund, as a result of the growing number of participants in the Fund, which called for the recovery of oil revenues to rebalance To the retirement fund, this study came to show the role that petroleum levies play to maintain the balance of the pension fund, and the study concluded that the Gaya has a role in this rebalancing, but temporarily due to the disturbances that may be inflicted on the oil sector.
