Abstract EN

This study aims at observing the movement of the Arabic Specialized Lexicography through one of the most significant scientific fields in the recent decades.

It is the field of computing - which gains its significance through continuous updates and successive developments- as well as through specialized lexicon in this field issued by The Arabic Language Academy in Cairo, that is (Glossary of Computing Terms) in its fourth edition.

That is to find out its thoroughness in keeping up with the terminological developments; which arise to fulfill giving names to the new concepts in this field.

This specialized lexicon is characterized by its rapid technological leaps so the aim is also to find out to which extent has this Glossary or (lexicon) benefited from the previous lexical works in the same field and the critical studies directed to the previous editions and considering it in this edition.

This study came as a monetary analytic one to the newly added terms to this edition, appended with some results that I deem important to be taken into consideration in the next new versions of (Glossary of Computing Terms).
