Abstract EN

The objective of his study was to covered the Food Security Project supported by the chair of UNISCO for Science and Technology for house-holds in Wad-Ramly area, Khartoum North, Sudan and its effect on women empowerment economically.

The UNISCO support is in fields of women training and good quality seed supply.

The objective of the research was to study the economical empowerment of women prior to the project establishment and to determine the obstacles against women participation in the economical and developmental activities.

The study covered 500 farmer women from Wad-Ramly area and the nearby villages.

The study followed the descriptive analysis method where the questionnaire was the data collection mean.

Sample of study was a purposive sample of 200 farmer women from large farms.

The main findings of this study was that the Food Security Project supported by the UNISCO chair for Science and Technology at Wad-Ramly area empowered the women economically by increasing productivity and hence increased the family income.
