Abstract EN

The study aimed to reveal the level of geographical culture among social studies teachers in the directorate of education of the Marka / Amman district, and to find out whether there are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05≥α) in the level of their geographical culture due to variables: gender / gender, and specialty.

to achieve the goals of the study, the researcher applied a multiple-choice test consisting of (40) items, distributed on five axes : location, physical geography, human geography, ecosystem, geographical problems, maps and geographical tools.

the study sample consisted of (151) male and female teachers from the social studies teachers belonging to the schools of education for the Marka brigade, in the academic year 2019/2020.

the results of the study showed that the level of geographical culture (average) for all axes, meaning that it did not exceed the limit of mastery which is (75%), and the culture axis of maps and geographical tools appeared, at a low level.

the results also indicated that there were statistically significant differences attributable to the gender variable in the site axis only, and that was for the benefit of females.

and the presence of statistically significant differences attributable to the variable of specialization and was in favor of geography specialization.
