Abstract EN

The purpose of this study was to determine the organizational culture, and its relation to the level of performance of the faculty members in the Jordanian public universities.

the study was based on the descriptive survey correctional approach.

the study sample consisted of the whole study community which is (115) faculty member.

in order to achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire which consisted of two parts was developed.

part one was a questionnaire to detect the prevailing organizational culture in the faculties of physical education, which consisted of (39) parts divided into (6) areas.

the second part was a questionnaire to reveal the level of performance of faculty members, which consisted of (20) paragraphs.

the results were as following :the organizational culture prevailed in the faculties of physical education in the Jordanian public universities from the point of view of the faculty members, came in all fields of the study as medium.there were no statistically significant differences at the level of (α = 0.05) for the degree of organizational culture prevailed in faculties of physical education, among faculty members in Jordanian public universities from their point of view, according to the scientific rank and teaching experience.the level of performance of the faculty members of the faculties of physical education in Jordanian public universities from their point of view was at an average level.there is a positive relationship between the organizational culture of the faculties of physical education and the level of performance of faculty members was 0.69.

in light of the study results, the researcher recommends the following :the necessity of considering the cultures and customs of the faculty staff, as well as having more resources in the faculties of physical education in the Jordanian universities.improving the job performance of the faculty staff ensured by the administration of the physical education faculty such as : ensuring their functional rights, training, participating in dicision making and activating the reward system.the collages’ deans should participate in the formation of independent cultures of their colleges according to specific strategies.
