Abstract EN

the current study aimed at detecting the effect of analogy strategy on reading comprehension and creative thinking among the 3thgrade students in directorate of education .

to achieve the objectives of the study a teaching material was built according to analogy strategy.

a reading comprehension test (prepared by the researcher) was used, and the Torrance test for creative thinking (verbal picture).

the semi-experimental method was used .the sample of the study consisted of (78) female and male students in al-Karak schools which was intentionally selected; students were distributed into two experimental groups and a control group , each group was comprised of (39) female and male students.

the findings of the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences at (α≤0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups in the post-measurement on reading comprehension test and creative thinking test in favor of the experimental group.

that is, there is an effect of analogy strategy in developing reading comprehension and creative thinking.

there were also no statistically significant differences at (α≤0.05) between the averages of the students ’scores in the post-measurement on the averages of the students’ scores in the post-measurement on the reading comprehension test and the creative thinking test due to gender.

in the light of the results of the study, several recommendations were suggested.
