The constitutional amendment of 2020 replaced the body concerned with constitutional oversight with an independent constitutional institution, the constitutional court, whose composition and terms of membership differ from the constitutional council.

the constitutional court is still prominent, and appears through the formation and some of the conditions required in the members in addition to the role of the president of the republic within the formation of the constitutional court or through its powers, in addition to keeping the same notification bodies in force before the constitutional council and not expanding them and not granting the constitutional court the authority automatic notification, all of which makes it an oversight institution that does not differ much from the constitutional council.
