Abstract EN

This study aims to draw attention to an artistic phenomenon that al- Mutanabbi dealt with and disseminated in an important share of his poetry, to become part of his everyday life and the changes it witnessed.

If al- Mutanabbi is well-known to people and the world, the study would stop at an issue that engaged the reader and provided him/her with enriching visual images about the poet’s knowledge of stars and planets, particularly his deep awareness of their meanings and his understanding of their aesthetic dimensions and values, which are closely related to the subjects he was concerned with.

In any case, this research will expose the poet’s handling and use of celestial bodies in his poems as argumentative tools capable of rising above all considerations, as reflected in the terminology that informs textual structures.

To this aim, the researchers explored, at the logical level, two major axes in Al-Mutanabbi’s poetry: (1) the meanings of planets, stars and celestial bodies in the poetry of Al-Mutanabbi; and (2) the effect of employing the beauty of the sky and its pearls in making up the artistic image.
