Abstract EN

This study aimed at investigating the art of hangings weaving, highlighting its importance in terms of its usefulness and aesthetic values.

it also aimed to draw the attention of designer to the significance of Sudanese heritage as well as benefiting from it in enhancing the works of hangings weaving to document the beja tribe heritage of eastern Sudan in particular.

the study highlighted the creative and aesthetic feature that constituted this heritage as well as exploring the methods, approaches, and artistic practices adopted in hangings weaving and examining its various patterns.

the researcher depended in her collection of data and information on personal interviewsand field-visits, in addition to references, the descriptive-analytical method was adopted , beside the applied method, samples of hangings weaving were made to document the heritage of beja tribe of eastern Sudan byadopting a weaving loom.

these samples were analyzed artistically.

the finding of the study confirmed that the heritage of eastern Sudan can be one of the sources that can be enhance the aesthetic value of hangings weaving as well as realizing the Sudanese authenticity and identity.
