Abstract EN

The aim of the research is to identify the effectiveness of a computer program in developing design and decoration skills among high school students in Khartoum state.

the research was conducted to find out the effectiveness of the computer and the goal it achieves in order to upgrade the teaching and learning process, and to determine the effectiveness of the computer program in developing design and decoration skills, and the difficulties faced by a student on this stage and the best of way of treatment.

the researcher followed the descriptive analytical survey approach, and the personal interview and questionnaire were used as a tool to collect information.

the study sample consisted of (158) students from different schools from Khartoum state schools, who were chosen by stratified random method, and the researcher conducted an interview that includes the interview sample (10) of secondary school teachers and teachers with specialization in the subjects of arts and computers in secondary schools, and the statistical treatment was done using the (SPSS) program, and the results resulted in the following : 1-the computer was not used in teaching process in teaching art subject in most Khartoum secondary school.

2-using the computer in designing programmes is more fruitful than the traditional aids of tuition.

3-there are technical and practical obstacles to face the teacher of art at secondary schools most important recommendations may be briefed as follows : 1-the necessity of utilization and development of the computer at secondary school.

2- the importance of providing design programmes such as the photoshop and coral draw etc .thus the students can cope up with newly adopted art programmes suitable for secondary school teachers.

3-the ministry of education ought to recruit the computer specialists together with art educators , so than both may integrate efforts for a smooth successful outcome.
