Abstract EN

This study aims to review five of the contemporary imitation materials commonly used in Jordan, and to shed light on their positive, negative and impact on the character of interior design and the Jordanian environment as well as to educate interior designers, consumers and manufacturers of the benefits and disadvantages of producing and using some of these manufactured materials depending on the imitation materials.

collecting data and information on many references and books, using the descriptive and analytical method, relying on interview and observation as tools for the study, and the study resulted in results, the most important of which is that counterfeit materials cannot replace natural materials due to the difference of feelings that each of them transmits to the user as the main reason for the spread the use of counterfeit materials in Jordan is cheap and can be formed and colored with high accuracy and flexibility.

the study recommended the need to emphasize the use of logical and practical designs based on the optimal use of counterfeit materials, their applications and areas of use, and determine the most effective method in designing the internal space of the local environment.
