Abstract EN

The government of the July 14, 1958 revolution in Iraq realized the importance of education as a basic program in developing society economically and politically.

Therefore, education was taken care of to include all ages, so education expanded horizontally and vertically, and its philosophy and goals changed in a way that serves the new national values of countries, and calls have spread to achieve the principle of equal opportunities in education.

With the aim of achieving a qualitative transfer in society, the leaders of the revolution have set in mind that any process of building the new situation in Iraq must begin with the Iraqi man who has lived deprivation, poverty, disease and ignorance, and provide educational opportunities for every citizen that doubles Iraqis' belonging to their homeland.

All educational facilities have developed during this period greatly and this has been reflected in all its stages, and with regard to primary education, work was being done to make education compulsory and comprehensive for all groups of people, for females and males, despite all the social and economic conditions that remained in most of them the same at the same level.

The demand for education was witnessing a large increase because the government of the revolution seriously allowed the preparation of educational requirements, so this study was divided into two topics, as the first topic dealt with the Ministry of Education and its achievements, while the second topic dealt with higher education and the epidemic of university institutions
