Abstract EN

This study aims to highlight the challenges facing Arab economic integration, as a result of global economic transformations, and the various new trade policies that have resulted in the growth of protectionist tendencies and trade wars.

This study also addresses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the prospects for economic integration among Arab countries.

It then assesses how the pandemic has accelerated digitization and the implications for the integration of these countries.

The results of the study showed that economic integration is necessary to achieve sustainable development in the Arab countries, especially in the context of crises.

Regional integration, when designed and implemented within the framework of a broader development strategy that keeps pace with the growth of the new digital economy, can enhance economic diversification and structural changes to Arab economies, achieve and improve competitiveness, and serve as a platform for the effective participation of Arab economies in the global economy.
