The research stops at an exceptional poetic case, or a reversal of the poetic ways familiar in the Abbasid poetic heritage in general, and the purpose of lamentation in particular.

It was one of the peculiarities of Abbasid poetry and its features that distinguished it from previous literary eras.

The research proceeded in tracing these poems in the poets' collections.

The research is divided into three sections: section one deals with the caliphs and princes lamenting the female concubines and female slaves.

The second section deals with the poets' lamentation for the female slaves.

Section three deals with condolences to the caliphs by lamenting the female slaves.
