The issue of environmental protection is of great importance and constitutes one of the most serious issues in the modern era as it relates to the future of humanity as a whole.

The efforts of the international community have combined to find ways to protect the environment with its various elements, and in this context, it has held many conferences and adopted many principles in this regard to give the necessary protection, and take measures and measures to achieve this goal, by adopting and activating the principle of prevention to prevent environmental damage.

This research paper dealt with the study and analysis of the preventive nature of environmental legislation, indicating the embodiment of this important principle by environmental legislation in Algeria, especially Law 03-10, which is related to the protection of the environment in the framework of sustainable development.
