Recently, Mauritania has witnessed a remarkable rise and wide spread of the phenomenon of rape, particularly, the phenomenon of minor's raping, which has spreader in a frightening manner.

That made the study of this phenomenon an urgent requirement, to highlighting its causes and the most important factors that led to its spread, especially with the "ignoring" policy that the concerned authorities have met with this phenomenon.

This approach og "ignoring this phenomenon" at both level of research/study and identifying the causes that help to the rapid spread of it, or the development of security and legal means to reduce it.

Rather, the dilemma of legal leniency and the inadequacy of the means of courts and the traditional means of detection with other social factors are all factors that contributed to a large spread of this bad phenomenon that harms individuals and societies both significantly.

These factors also contributed to the impunity of most criminals, and sometimes it may even require from the victim to prove the crime of rape against the criminal or that she herself will be imprisoned on charges of violating the sanctities of God.

That lead to a greater injustice, which is her imprisonment on a second charge, which makes most rapists escape punishment and most women refrain from reporting their raping crimes they were subjected to.
