Abstract EN

This paper tries to investigate a linguistic phenomenon that has occupied linguists: the phenomenon of elision in Arabic.

There are some sounds and words that may be difficult for some dialects or people, and this is normal in all languages.

Our research is limited to studying the elision in Arabic, starting with its roots In terms of language, significance, scholars' position and causes.

We reviewed the manifestations of elision in Arabic in its three levels: (phonemic, morphological and grammatical), and we ended the research with a conclusion that includes the most prominent results.The research relied on language books and grammar scholars who spoke extensively about this phenomenon.

The researcher follows the descriptive and analytical method.
