: In the algerien system, the office of president of the republic occupies an important position in arranging constitutional institutions due to the wide powers that the latter enjoys.

In view of this, the law stipulated for accepting candidacy for this position a set of conditions that must be met by every candidate, and in order to ensure that all these conditions are met, the constitutional council has assigned the issue of monitoring the validity of candidacy by monitoring the availability of the constitutional and legal conditions in every candidate for the presidential elections.
