Abstract EN

This study is an overview of the reforming efforts of Assa's own, Sidi Mohamed ben Ahmed, in order to raise scholars' and researchers' awareness to the immense role of this unknown scholar in the reforming movement that Morocco witnessed during and after the French protectorate.

The researcher approached this study by way of research and analysis through two topics: 1- shedding light on the Sheikh's scientific and personal life.

2- Highlighting some of his renewal propositions.

The researcher concludes in the end of his study that this prominent scholar has immensely contributed in the fields of religious, social, political, educational and intellectual reforms.

He then strongly recommends that researchers focus their efforts on dissecting the heritage of the jurist Sidi Mohamed ben Ahmed Al-Assawi.

The study should be on both, the academic level and a field study that tracks the sheikh's heritage.

The findings should then be collected in a separate book which certainly, will benefit the upcoming generations of knowledge seekers and the Islamic Library as a whole.
