Abstract EN

The Narrator is one of the main components of the narrative work which is indispensable, for he is the one who transmits the events and facts of the novel, and he does not content himself only with his function, but has other functions which he performs in the novel.

This article seeks to define and monitor them in the novel "a wonderful day of death" by the writer Samir kassimi, and we mentioned earlier the concept of narration, the problematic of the term, and its synonyms among Arab critics.

In our study, we concluded that the narrator in this novel performed, in the same manner as the narrative function, other functions: Interpret events and names of mysterious personalities, coordination, documentation or citation, the illusion of the realism of places and people.
