Abstract EN

The purpose of this study is to highlight the reasons for the presence in Algeria of certain Moroccan groups, namely, "prisoners and detainees, " and the manner in which the Ottoman Authority treats these groups, whether local or indigenous.

One of the findings of the study was that, despite the many reasons for the capture and detention of the Ottoman Authority by both Algerian and Tunisian groups, the military conflict was the most important reason for that.

The situation of Algerian or Tunisian prisoners of war in Algeria is different from that of European prisoners of war in terms of treatment and accommodation, according to the literature that has been completed.
