The disappearance of the features of the Algerian state as a result of the surrender treaty, has thrown the country into the unknown and waved it towards a fate that no human can foresee, and the vacuum created by the collapse of political power had created a state of great turmoil.

From the occupation of the city of Algiers in the 1830 and 1837, that is, for seven years, the tribes and clans of the Sour El-Ghozlan region lived in overwhelming chaos, due to the disagreement and discord that existed between its tribes since the Ottoman era.

In 1837, Sour El-Ghaozlan joined the resistance of Emir Abd El Kader, in which he extended his influence over it and established calm, and the area became one of the resistance areas affiliated with the Jihad Brigade led by the Emir.

Thus, the Wall of the Deer became the fortress and the strategic location through which the Emir opened the road to the desert, as well as the dam in the face of colonial expansion.
