This study aims to answer the following question: Can Fifth-year primary school student estimate a quantity in the non-symbolic system and in the symbolic system? For this study, the descriptive analytic approach and some items of the Zareki-R test measuring quantity estimation were used.

The sample of the study was 46 students in the fifth grade of primary school.

This study revealed that a fifth-grade primary school student could estimate quantity in both the non-symbolic and symbolic systems, and that the sample study performed better in estimating quantity in the symbolic system than in the non-symbolic system.
