Abstract EN

Economic theories underscore the importance of small and medium enterprises )SMEs( in development in general and lay the theoretical foundations for the pivotal role they play in the process of economic growth.

In this context, given the financing problems experienced by SMEs in Algeria that limit their development and therefore their contribution to the development process, This study tries to highlight the crucial role that (SMEs) play in Algeria in the light of their financing problems that limit their development.

It also aims to highlight the most important methods used by Al Salam Bank Algeria in sponsoring small and medium enterprises.

Besides, it demonstrates if these products are sufficient to overcome financial problems.

The study finds that Al Salam Bank plays an essential role in sponsoring these institutions, and represent 94 % of the total financing it provides.

It is noticeable that this bank gives wide attention to the trade sector, neglecting other vital sectors, and relies heavily in sponsoring these institutions on The sale of murabahah, elsilm and elidjara, which reduces the developmental role of this bank, which is embodied mainly in sponsoring productive investments.
