Abstract EN

The present study aimed at revealing the relationship of self-esteem to the job satisfaction among nurses.

The researcher used descriptive approach.

The study sample consisted of 225 nurses working in public health institutions in the wilaya of Mostaganem (128 males and 97 females).

They were chosen in random manner.

To achieve the study objectives, the researcher used Cooper Smith's self-esteem scale and a nurse's job satisfaction questionnaire developed by the researcher, after checking the psychometric properties of the tools of the study.

The research concluded the following results: - Nurses working in public health institutions have a low level of self-esteem.

- Nurses working in public health institutions have a low level of job satisfaction.

-There is a positive correlation between self-esteem and job satisfaction among nurses working in public health institutions.

Accordingly, the researcher presented a number of recommendations, the most important of which are: - Organize training cycles and pedagogical conferences for nurses in public health institutions by psychological specialists on how to deal with the psychological problems that they face.

- proceed a comparative study on self-esteem and job satisfaction among nurses working in public health institutions and those working in private sector health institutions.
