Abstract EN

Several writers and researchers have addressed the phenomenon of population growth, its characteristics, advantages and impact on the various variables surrounding it, and Malthus is considered one of the most important thinkers who contributed in this field, especially with his pessimistic outlook, in which he showed the difficulty of compatibility between population growth and the natural resources of the earth.

for this purpose, this research aims to analyze and measure the impact of population growth on economic development in Algeria during the period 1990-2019 the results of the study showed that the fertility rate and the crude death rate had the most impact on the per capita GDP during the study period.
