Legal extension is one of the biggest problems facing lease contracts tenancy long-term ones, as it works to not apply the consensual principle, which is the principle in every contract, and leads to wasting the rights of the parties to the contract, when it achieves the interest of the lessee in the case of his determination, and decides the interest of the lessor in the case of judgment after Its permissibility, the Jordanian legislator, through its multiple amendments to the law of owners and tenants, has put in place provisions that control this questioning in order to guarantee the interest of the two parties.

Nevertheless, the Jordanian legislator has not been able to put into place provisions that address all aspects of the legal extension of the lease contract that fulfills the interest of the parties to the lease without prejudice to the general principles of the contract.
