P44This article discusses the issue of diagnosing the reality of inflation in Algeria during the period 2000-2019; therefore, the main problem was formulated as follows: What is the reality of inflation in Algeria during the period 2000-2019? The main objective is to try to track the evolution of inflation rates in Algeria and the reasons for their rise, as well as to identify measures taken to reduce inflation during the study period.

There were several reasons for inflation in Algeria; the most notable was the increase in the monetary mass and the nature of Algerian imports, as well as the appreciation of their value.

In order to limit the rise in inflation rates, a policy of targeting inflation has been introduced and a number of measures have been taken to regulate the market and to maintain the purchasing power of needy groups.
