يروم هذا المقال إلى تسليط الضوء على مسألة الحداثة الغربية، و بيان تحولاتها من مرحلة إلى أخرى، فكانت الحداثة في نسختها الأولى كما رسمها المشروع الحداثي صلبة مبنية على ترسانة من المقولات كالعقلانية و الحرية.

إلخ، و لكن ما لبت هذه المقولات أن انحرفت عن أصلها الأول لتدخل مرحلة السيولة بمصطلح زيجمونت باومان، أو كما يسميها بعض الفلاسفة بما بعد الحداثة، وهي تعد النسخة الثانية للحداثة و تتسم بالمرونة و السرعة و غياب المرجعيات الكبرى.
