The administration, represented by the Ministry of the Interior and its decentralized bodies at the municipal and state levels, has been monopolizing the organization of elections since independence.

However, the law grants the authority to monitor elections to various bodies, including the Political Committee, the National Election Monitoring Committee and the Independent National Elections Authority.

However, the reality proved the limited powers given to the election monitoring bodies and their inability to control the joints of the electoral processes on the one hand, and on the other hand the administration’s involvement in electoral corruption that reached a point where political life has rotted and was a reason to ignite the popular movement.

One of his most important demands was the issue of establishing an independent authority to take charge of organizing elections from beginning to end.

This was actually translated by the establishment of the Independent National Elections Authority by the organic law 19 / 07, which was entrusted with organizing the elections from beginning to end, and accordingly, the election law was amended based on this new approach, where the independent authority was included as the body organizing the elections instead of the administration
