Abstract EN

The study aims at identifying the skills of information specialists through the courses taught in the Department of Library and Information at the Faculty of Arts, El-Neelain University, the components of the department, and the difficulties that hinder the updating of the curriculum.

the Researcher used the Case study methodology and the content analysis methodology.

The study found out that the department teaches (57) courses in eight semesters, with a number of (162)credit hours, the skills that the curriculum provides with students are information technology, , information organizing, information management skills, and information services.

the difficulties are the weakness of the land the library and the lack of training of faculty members The study recommended updating curricula every five years, providing land training faculty members and using information technology in teaching
