For Muslims, the historical writing was not limited to the people of history only.

Rather, the people of the fatwa and the scholars of hadith had a prominent role in codifying the historical incident, even if not directly, but many historical incidents came in the context of their speech in the form of fatwas in most cases.

In this article we try to shed light on one of the men of the people of the fatwas, Ibn Taimia may God have mercy on him (661 AH / 728 AH).

The latter had many fatwa that he issued in some Islamic sects, highlighting their history in the context of his fatwas, and because these fatwas are so many, we limit ourselves to On the part of it concerning the Ismaili sect and its three groups (Qarmatians, Nizaris and Musta'lis), so that we review their history according to what was mentioned in his book Majmoo 'al-Fatwa, and we addressed this article with the contributions of the Fatwa people in historical writing (Ibn Taimia in his book Majmoo' al-Fatwas as a model), then we try at the end of it to evaluate This history, through comparison with the sources that talked about these sects, to know the extent of the credibility of the incidents reported by Ibn Taimia.
