Abstract EN

The study aimed at developing a proposed model of school safety curriculum for female students with intellectual disabilities in the lower grades of primary school stage at the institutes of intellectual education in Jeddah.

for this purpose, the study sought to identify the risks commonly faced by female students, from the point of view of female teachers.

it also attempted determining the differences between female teachers' viewpoints about most of those risks based on the following variables : (workplace, academic major, number of years of experience, academic qualifications, and experience in the field of teaching).

moreover, the study identified school safety procedures which were deemed necessary to train the female students on, from female teachers' viewpoints.

it also determined the differences between female teachers' views on school safety procedures according to the above-mentioned variables.

study sample consisted of (44) female teachers ; and to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher developed a study tool to assess the risks and another study tool assess school safety procedures.

the study reached the following results, the most important of which are as follows: the arithmetic means of the responses of study sample members to the risks tool came at a low degree, from the point of view of female teachers and there were statistically significant differences with relation to the following dimensions : (the first, the second, the eighth, the tenth, the overall dimension), according to the variable of 'academic qualifications'.

furthermore, there were statistically significant differences with relation to the dimensions : (the first, the second, the seventh, the ninth, the tenth, and the overall dimension), according to the variable of 'experience in the field of teaching'.

moreover, the arithmetic means of the responses of study sample members to school safety procedures' tool came at a low degree as there were statistically significant differences with relation to the dimensions : (the first, the sixth, and the seventh), according to the variable of 'workplace' and with relation to the fifth dimension according to the variable of 'academic major'.

at the end, the study reached the following recommendations, the most important of which are as follows : approving school safety curriculum as a basic curriculum by curriculum planning and developing committee at the ministry of education; and launching awareness programs for the families of the students with intellectual disabilities to educate them on public safety procedures and emergency drills.
