Abstract EN

This research is based on studying and analyzing the nature of the relationship between virtual digital currencies and the crime of terrorist funding, and looking into the possibility of using these currencies in funding terrorist organizations, due to considerations of the characteristics that these currencies have in such a way that could allow them to be used to fund terrorist activities, and to research whether the penal legislative system is capable to confront the crime of funding terrorism through digital currencies.

The study, in its first part, tackles the virtual digital currencies, their characteristics, mechanism as well as the position of international organizations and countries.

The second part draws on the penal confrontation to fund terrorism in the Jordanian legislative system and respective comparative legislative systems.

The third part highlights the relationship of the virtual digital currencies with funding terrorism, helping factors thereof, circumstances of their commitment alongside with the definite indicators of their possible use in funding terrorism.
