The components of the research, with its methodological and strategic approach, reflect the principle of comprehensiveness and complementarity of the process of diagnosing the reality of indicators of competitiveness for tourism development in the Arab world, according to the global competitiveness index for 2019, knowing that the exceptional period represented by the events of the corona pandemic was excluded, to reveal weaknesses and strengths to reach sustainable development for the tourism sector in the Arab world.

the research combined theory and practice, as it includes a theoretical framework that deals with the reality of Arab tourism development, and a practical application that contributes to setting executive procedures for the advancement of the various components of the tourism industry in the Arab world, with an emphasis on sustainability factors, with a clear reference to several international reports issued by organizations an economist interested in the global tourism sector, which led to the development of a general perception of the reality of diagnosing the tourism sector in the Arab world, which contributed to identifying the most important problems that it suffers from, in preparation for the development of practical operational procedures that can be implemented in practice, which contribute to treating the problems that stand as stumbling blocks in front of the development of the tourism sector in the Arab world.

the study concluded the importance of Arab countries' follow-up to global competitiveness reports, which constitute an important element in addressing the problems of developing their tourism sector by maximizing strengths and addressing weaknesses.
