This research aims at trying to interpret the indicative signs in the novel, the broken wings, by Gibran Khalil Gibran according to the requirements and mechanisms of the approach of semiotics of passions, which stems from the hypotheses of the general theory of semiotics.

this trend has not received enough research interest in comparison with other semiotic research trends although the literary discourse-especially the narrative- pays great attention to passions, whims and emotions as no literary work is bereft of them.

the literary entities must sense and feel before they speak and do.

therefore, it is necessary to shed light on this aspect of the semiotic study and to test its applied and procedural efficacy.
