Abstract EN

The current study aimed to identify the relationship between psychological hardness and its dimensions, psychological security, its variables, and achievement motivation among a sample of university students, and to identify the presence of significant differences between the sexes in all study variables, and identifying the differences between the high and low-degree groups in psychological security on all study variables, and the possibility of extracting some factors through factor analysis, indicating the relationship between the study variables, finally, the possibility of predicting psychological hardness as a dependent variable through the degree of psychological security and achievement motivation as independent changes in the study sample.

the study sample consisted of (320) male and female students from Assiut university from different specializations and academic teams, with (160) male and (160) female students ranging in age between (18-22) years with an average age of (20.7), and a standard deviation of (1.8), the psychological hardness scale, prepared by Imad Mukhaimer (2011), the achievement motivation scale for adults, prepared by Hermans and prepared by al-Arabiya / Farouk Moussa (1991) was applied to it after investigating the stability shock of these scales.

the study resulted in the existence of a positive significant correlation between psychological hardness, psychological security and achievement motivation, as it was found that there were statistically significant differences between the sexes, and these differences were in favor of males in most of them.

it was found that there were differences in all the variables of the study in favor of the group of high psychological security, and some factors were extracted through the factor analysis to indicate the relationship between the various variables of the study, the study also revealed the possibility of predicting psychological hardness as a dependent variable through psychological security and achievement motivation as independent variables.

achievement motivation came from the most predictive variables of psychological hardness.
