Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the ethical position of contemporary philosophers towards persons with disabilities.

in order to achieve this goal, the researcher found it necessary to identify what is meant by the term "disability" as defined by some contemporary philosophers who are interested in disability.

he also tried to explain the ethical position taken by some contemporary philosophers in that respect.

he concluded that contemporary philosophers have taken two opposing positions towards persons with disabilities : the pro-disability position, which advocates people with disabilities and does not differentiate between them and healthy people, and the opposing position whose supporters try to underestimate them and do not look at them in the way they look at healthy people.

thus, it was necessary for the researcher to present his opinion on these two opposing positions, as we found him inclined to embrace the pro-disability position because he believes that this pro-disability position can overcome the challenges facing people with disabilities.

moreover, he emphasizes their equality with healthy people.

as the researcher seeks to support his opinion, he found that there are a good number of contemporary philosophers who supported the position he had previously adopted.

rather, they did good efforts in raising the status of persons with disabilities, and also tried to integrate them into society.
