Proverbs carry out educational tasks believed in by the group that uses them, since these proverbs contribute to making the values and cultural orientations.

This collective acceptability enabled the proverbs to embrace the most immune perceptions against accountability and scrutiny.

From this aspect, the studies that are concerned with cultural criticism are of special importance.

The problem addressed in the present study falls within this framework.

It is concerned with exposing the perceptions presented by proverbs and their stories about women in particular, with a view to grasping the foundations on which they were based, and discussing their causes and effects.

Among the present study assumes is that female infanticide (wa'd) in its general sense based on negation and annulment was an original component in the forming of women's identity, and this requires from us to work on exploring the manifestations of the female infanticide (wa'd), its prolonged effects, and the cultural tricks by which it justified its practices in liquidating women physically and morally.

Among the most prominent results that the research led to is that the sexual imagination of women in proverbs and the stories accompanying them are considered some of the most important components that culture has relied on, represented in its followed symbols, in establishing the suspicious woman’s identity.

In this imaginary chasm, woman was exposed to female infanticide culturally and virtually, reducing her existence and potentialities, and justified the violence against her.
