Abstract EN

This research tackles Arabized and foreign(loan) vessel words and investigates them in three books.

The first is ʻAl-Muarrabʼ (Arabized words) by Al-Jawaliqi.

The second book is ʻShifaa Al-Ghaleelʼ (Healing Burning Thirst) by Al-Khafaje.

The third is ʻQassd Al-Sabeelʼ (The Direction of the Right Way) by: Al-Muhbi.

This research introduces a definition of these words and studies them linguistically attempting to root them by explaining the words for food utensils, drinking utensils and multi-use vessels.

In addition, it attempts to identify the measures upon which they are based in order to know Arabized and foreign words and the way to deal with these foreign words by substituting a letter for another letter, omitting some letters and attaching the words to specific measures.

The research is based on the descriptive – analytical method.

Then, the research is concluded with key results, among which are: Borrowed words are not limited to one language alone – These words are subject to the phonetic and morphological Arabic rules – Some of these words are so old and some are introduced a little late.
