Abstract EN

The research on the dynamics of the narrative identity between the physical and the subjective in the novel of “A Drowned has Fun in a Swing” by the novelist Youssef Al-Muhaimid, provided the fields of revealing the forms of narrative identity pertaining to the semiotic scientist Paul Rico through a clear methodology that dealt with two models of permanence in time, the first of which is the physical identity, where the research investigated the domains of its presence through two current concepts: The concept of rigid customs and traditions, and the concept of acquired identifications through the modeling of heroes, principles and ideals.

Together, these two configurations reveal the features of the identity of nature that relate to the question (what is the self) and not (who is the self), which proved the rigidity of the innate identity and its own history.

The research also revealed the second model of permanence, which is the fulfillment of the pledge / subjectivity, which means the continuity of temperament and friendship, developing dynamic and controversial narrative tensions between them that formed the narrative identity of the novel’s protagonists in terms of the plot formulation.
