In this article, we will try to study some aspects of the French policy applied in the Aurès région during the period from 1954 to 1956, which was called the "pacification" policy, and this is through the French archival documents.

We will began with Cherriere policy after with Gaston Parlange one's.

We will focus on the mentioned period in view of the availability of relevant documents, and in the end we will present an assessment of this policy, and whether the latter was really a "pacification" policy.

Our approach will be a critical study of these documents, and the aim is to provide new information on some features of French policy in the region during this period.
