Abstract EN

Algerian agricultural policy has suffered, since the adoption of economic decentralization reforms, from numerous contradictions which have had negative effects on the performance of the sector.

this article aims to highlight the contradictions in question and to underline the need to correct them.

the study was based on various writings related to the subject of the research, as well as on statistics published by official bodies.

the main result of this study can be summed up in the lack of rigor that characterized the transition led by the government to the market economy system.

the recommendations made insist on the need to open up the field of competition to national investors to obtain concession rights on agricultural land and the means of financing they need.
