Abstract EN

The main objective of this research is to reveal the nature of the relationship between housewife’s awareness of the leadership skills with its axes and as a whole (human personal skills, administrative intellectual skills) and her management of family relations with its axes and as a whole (housewife’s management of family relations with her husband, housewife’s management of family relations with her children , housewife’s management of family relations with her relatives and neighbors).The basic research sample consisted of 150 women whom were selected in a purposive manner, with the provision that they are married, from rural and urban areas in Minya Governorate, and belonging to different social and economic levels, and at different age levels from 25 to 50 year-olds, and their husbands reside in the same house and they have more than one child of different ages.

The research tools were prepared including the following: general family data form, questionnaire of housewife’s leadership skills, and questionnaire of family relations management.

The research used the descriptive analytical approach.

Data were statistically analyzed using the Spss.x program.

The research concluded several results, they are as follows: There are statistically significant differences at the level of significance of 0.01, 0.05 in the responses of housewives members of the basic study sample to the questionnaire of awareness of leadership skills with its axes and as a whole according to the study variables in favor of the urban residents, working housewives, and older housewives.

There are also statistically significant differences at 0.01 level of significance between the mean degrees of responses of housewives members of the basic study sample on the following family relations management axes (housewife’s management of family relations with her husband, housewife’s management of family relations with her relatives and neighbors, the total aggregate of the questionnaire) according to the variable of the place of residence in favor of rural residents , whereas, the differences were statistically significant at 0.01 significance level on the axis of housewife’s management of her relationship with her children in favor of the urban residents.

There are also statistically significant differences at 0.01 level of significance between the mean degrees of responses of housewives members of the basic study sample on the following family relations management axes (housewife’s management of family relations with her husband, housewife’s management of family relations with her children , housewife’s management of family relations with her relatives and neighbors, the total aggregate of the questionnaire) according to the variable of housewife’s work, and housewife’s age in favor of the working housewife and older housewives.

Eventually, there is a statistically significant correlation at 0.01 and 0.05 level of significance between awareness of leadership skills in its axes and as a whole, and management of family relations with its axes and as a whole for housewives
