Abstract EN

This study aims to highlight the role of the family in the development and manifestation of the identity and its components through its relation to the individual and its interaction with him since it's what gives social systems their logical foundation in the eyes of the society to which it belongs.

it also holds an active role in the physical and moral integrity of the individual.

the debate around the identity and it's fundaments in Algeria is almost non-existent.

so we will try through this study to reveal the Algerian individual's connection to his identity through the relationship that binds him to family and the role of the latter in creating individuals with a strong personality and a cohesive national identity, and that by taking Skikda as a model for this study through a rural and urban perspective.
