The change in the concept of “power” and “security dimensions” after the cold war led some nations' policy makers to find out new means to implement their international policies without resort to conventional power.

in the same context, “energy diplomacy” is one of the most important techniques in implementing the Russian external agenda.

this diplomacy helps achieving the Russian interests and mainlining national security.

this study aims at probing COVID-19 effects on the Russian energy diplomacy vis-à-vis Europe through shedding light on all the repercussions on the international energy market, particularly the European ; and their impact on the Russian power policies, in addition to the measures taken by Russia to stop the ramifications that hit its energy policy.

findings show that despite the special circumstances brought about by COVID-19 on the international energy market, especially on the European due to the recession, principles of the Russian energy diplomacy remained stable.
